Finding the “perfect” mask for according to skin type
Applying face masks could be a game-changer in your skin-care routine but not all of them are created equally. Thanks to the progressive skincare market we’re currently living in, it’s getting more complicated than ever to find that perfect mask. But, thanks to that also, we’re bound to find one that could suit each of us.
So, where to begin? (I’ve been watching Enola ads too many times :P)
Clay masks are loaded with skin-care benefits, especially for those with oily or acne-prone skin. This is because, they’re known for absorbing excess oils, removing impurities, and purifying and minimizing the look of your pores. While different types of clay can be used, clay masks are universally used to give your skin a deep clean.
The clay mask that you should try out is Rose Clay Mask by Jelita KL. It is superfine to the skin, deeply cleans out the pores while also has instant brightening results.
Another mask that is not exactly clay but has the same texture-like is Oatmeal Turmeric Mask Scrub by Yello Skincare. Turmeric, while not exactly has the same benefits as clay masks, has long been known for its antioxidant protection and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as its ability to reduce hyperpigmentation naturally. It too has antimicrobial benefits, which aid in preventing the growth of bacteria—a MAJOR factor to help gain control over acne breakouts. Check out our previous post on this mask!
A sleep mask is usually a hydrating mask which you leave on overnight to provide skin with extra nourishment. Leaving the mask on for a longer time gives the ingredients more time to work. Sleep mask’s often have a lighter texture which wouldn’t make your pillowcase greasy. Use it as the last step in your evening routine and depending on how dry your skin is, it could be used in place of a night cream.
There’s a sleep masks for every skin type so worry not!
Sheet masks are the most common mask which we can find anywhere including drugstores. It’s usually made of some kind of paper or cotton that is saturated with effective ingredients.
There are lots of different sheet masks to suit different skin types depending on the ingredients they contain but the most common one which you can find is the one that offers hydration and moisturizing.
Leave the mask on your face for a while (or as mentioned at the back of the packaging) and you could feel the ingredients sink into the skin. If you’re looking for convenience in your masking routine, then this is your pick because most don’t require you to wash the face afterward.
Sheet masks can be used by all skin type but most suited to those who have dry skin as most sheet masks targets hydration. But again, it all depends to what it targets.
One of the sheet mask that should be in your shelf right now is Kayman Beauty’s Multi Element Mask. The mask is made up of Tencel sheet material, which is made of banana fiber and is full of powerful ingredients that target hydration and moisturizing.
Another mask which we recently covered is Glowdess Sheet Mask by PEAU. Not only does it provides instant glowing, it also is biodegradable! Which means, you could use it as a foot bath or even a fertiliser.
Plus, if you have sensitive skin, then Jelly-like masks works best for your skin as it hydrates the skin even more and

Bubble masks are currently trending and usually have a gel texture that transforms into a bubbling foam once applied to the face. It does looks fun and all but the foaming effect has no benefit for skin and the ingredients that make the mask foam can irritate skin. So, think twice before purchasing any 😉
So, what’re you waiting for. Masks up!
